MTN Foundation is the brainchild of MTN Group, a wing of hope that was established in all MTN operations, MTN Eswatini being one of them. Through the MTN Foundation, each operation manages its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects.

Funding for the MTN Foundation comes from up to one percent (1%) of annual profit after tax (PAT).

During the 2004-2005 financial year, the MTN Group spent R92 million on social investment. This investment has been continuously increasing year on year. In the nine-month period March to December 2005, the CSR investments amounted to R55 million.

Total CSR spend in 2006 amounted to R78.7 million.

The MTN Eswatini Foundation wins MTN Group President & CEO ’s top accolade for the best 21 Days of Y’ello Care the second time around.


The MTN Eswatini Foundation and Junior Achievement Eswatini host the first ever MTN/JA Vocational entrepreneurship Award Ceremony. During which 44 young people are awarded project completion certificates. Whilst five best-performing businesses are presented with seed capital amounting to E10 000.


The MTN Eswatini Foundation has wins the grand prize for the 21 Days of #YelloCare campaign. The prize, known as the Group President and CEO Award comes with $100 000 that is invested back into CSI (Corporate Social Investment) projects within Eswatini.


The MTN ENACTUS Technovation Challenge was officially launched at the Mhlalekhukhwini house; a competition which will seek to challenge teams from nine tertiary institutions to come up with innovative ways that ICT can be used to facilitate change.


The MTN Foundation partners with EBIS and the Ministry of Education to launch the MTN Educare radio show with the intention to provide students with a forum to receive tutorials on Maths and Science prior their final exams.


In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training, an amount of E700,000 is invested into a unique radio program that will be broadcasting revision lessons in Maths and Science for junior and senior secondary learners.


The MTN Foundation partners with the Ministry of Education and Training’s Science, Mathematics and ICT Fairs in a bid to empower and up-skill Swati students. To foster the culture of STEM.


The Foundation is named the runner up of the #YelloCare campaign. Winning the title which comes with USD 50 000 to be invested back into CSI (Corporate Social Investment) projects around Eswatini.


The Foundation and Ministry of Health Cataract Project is launched. A large number of Swatis have had their eyesight successfully restored.


The MTN Bushfire schools’ festival comes to life. The festival creates a platform for the local youth to express themselves creatively. The initiative has facilitated the development and support of Arts education in Eswatini.


The MTN Eswatini Foundation is launched with the sole intention to focus on corporate social investment initiatives covering education, health, enterprise development and national priorities.
