MTN’s E5 000 weekly prizes excites the first five customers
Five Swazi MTN customers won themselves E1 000 each after the first draw of the company’s new big and exciting ‘4Ever Makoya’ Promotion. This ultimately means Swazi MTN has given away E5 000 in total, to this week’s winners.
The first 4Ever Makoya draw was held on Monday 4th June 2018 at the MTN Head Office in Ezulwini.
One of the winners, Sindi Masilela (36) from ka-Mkhokhi at Siphofaneni said she will use the money she won to revive her handcraft business which has been idle for almost three years now, something that compromised the quality of her life.
“I used to sell handicraft in South Africa, but my business has been dormant since 2015 due to various challenges. In actual fact, I needed at least E7 000 in total to restore it. However, this sounds like a good start. I will save this money I have won, while I raise the rest,” she said.
During the interview, present with her was her two-year-old son, Siwakhile Mdluli who was clinging onto his mother. Masilela said her son, and his other three siblings were the stimulus behind her drive to revive her business.
“I want nothing but only the best for my children,” she said while lovingly pat her son’s cheeks.
She further expressed her delight for being chosen to be amongst the first winners of the promotion, which confirms that what Swazi MTN promised is real.
“I’m grateful to God for having created this opportunity for me, and Swazi MTN for the amazing reward that they have afforded me,” she said.
She had also set her sights on the grand prize, which is one of two Fords Everest valued at almost half a million.
“Although I may downplay my ambitions of winning one of these two cars, my heart yearns for it, more especially after winning this week’s draw,” she said.
“I wasn’t even aware of this promotion yet I spent a lot of money on both airtime and data. The only time I learnt about it, was when I was called to be informed that I was one of the lucky weekly E1 000 prize winners,” she said.
Another lucky winner, Agnes Bonisile Shoba (47) from Maphalaleni said she also didn’t see it coming.
“Although I had heard about the promotion, I initially had no interest in it. This was because I never imagined myself winning anything. That is why I was really surprised when I heard that I was one of the winners,” she said.
She is also unemployed and earns a living through farming.
“I will use the cash prize to make sure that my school going children get everything they need to be warm, and beat the biting cold,” she said.
She too had set her eyes on the bigger prize, one of the Fords Everest Sports Utility Vans (SUVs).
Speaking during the launch of the promotion, Swazi MTN Chief Marketing Officer Sylvia Otuo Acheampong said to qualify for the draw, customers will earn points by simply calling, browsing and sending SMSes.
“Each E1 a customer spends on the Swazi MTN network will earn them a point, and they will be able to view these points on the shortcode *2020#,” she explained. Points earned today will only appear after 11 am the following day.
While customers are at liberty to opt out of ‘4Ever Makoya’ there is a notable trend where customers opt out, but later request to join the competition. To minimize such incidents, customers are encouraged to read the promotional message before they chose to opt out.
Swazi MTN Chief Marketing Officer further encouraged indicated that customers who register their SIM cards during the promotion also stand a chance to win great prizes.
The promotion is one way for the company expressing appreciation to its valued customers for their support and loyalty in the past twenty years. ‘4Ever Makoya’ is one of many promotions that are in the pipeline to excite Swazi MTN customers.
