Pay As You Go Roaming

Now you can roam where life, business and adventure takes you and never worry about recharging your account. MTN Pay As You Go customers can now recharge using the visited country’s recharge cards.

The service will benefit MTN customers roaming between the following countries: South Africa, Botswana, Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda.

How Do I Access MTN Seamless Roaming
(Pay As You Go Roaming Service)

To get started customers are required to activate the service before they leave Swaziland. For service activation, customers must dial *170*1# and the service will be activated. Upon returning home, subscribers who desire to suspend the service must dial *170*2# for the service to be deactivated. Subscribers who reside within the border areas are encouraged to have the service
suspended or alternatively have the mobile phone set to manual search of the network. This will prevent customers from unintentionally having to roam when the can use the MTN Swaziland at
preferable rates.

How do I Load Airtime?
• The Customer can buy any available airtime voucher available in the visited Country at any MTN Retail Outlet.
• The Customer Scratches the voucher and gets the recharge number;
• The customer will dial: *222* Voucher Pin #
• The Voucher will be recharged and display the value of the voucher in the local currency;
• Additional Bonuses that may be advertised on the recharge voucher will not apply: this means that the customer’s roaming airtime account
will only be topped up to the face value of the voucher.
• On continuing to travel outside of the visited country, the remaining balance within the roamers account can further be utilized by other roaming operations.
• Once airtime has been purchased, the unused airtime balance can be used to make calls from any location (i.e. while roaming on any foreign
network, as well as while making calls on the local network).

How do I select the MTN Roaming Network while roaming?

MTN Pay As You Go roaming service will only be available with MTN South Africa, MTN Zambia, Mascom Botswana, MTN Uganda, MTN Rwandacell and MTN Swaziland. Customers who have their
mobile phones set to automatic network selection will automatically be able to register on the visited network. However, if the network is not automatically selected, customers can search for the network manually from the mobile phone then select to register on the MTN network. Customers can refer to their mobile phone manual to know
how to search for the network manually.

Customers can also get assistance from the helpline to get their mobile phone registered on the roaming network.

How Do I Make A Call while Roaming?

The customer must insert a dialing code followed by number the customer is calling i.e. +268XXXXXXX.

Then making an international call while roaming the customer will be required to add the country’s destination code first, followed by the number being called. For example when calling a South African number the customer will start by entering the country code which is +27 then the
number e.g. +278XXXXXXXXXX.

How are the calls charged when roaming?

Both incoming and outgoing voice calls will be charged as indicated in the table below. Callers are charged per minute, with the first minute charged in full and thereafter charged in increments of half a minute.

SMS
Customers will be able to send and receive SMS whiles roaming.

Helpline Service
Customers can access the customer services helpline whilst roaming by
dialing +2684060925, which will be charged at standard roaming rates.

Inbound and Outbound Roaming
Customers can at any time and for any type of query walk into any dealership and/or MTN Service Centre for assistance.
