VoiceMail

When you cannot answer your cellphone, MTN VoiceMail will. Working much like an answering machine, this service will allow people who are calling you to leave a recorded voice message for you when you are unable to take the call, or when your cellphone is switched off.

Store up to 30 messages with a duration of 60 seconds each in your voicemail for up to two days. Messages can be played, deleted and stored as required. This service is available to all MTN Customers, and all you need is to activate your VoiceMail box by following the simple set-up procedure.

Setting up your MTN VoiceMail

Call 100 from your MTN cellphone and follow the voice prompts. You can record a personalised greeting and customise your voicemail settings.

Setting your VoiceMail box password

Call 120 from your MTN cellphone and follow the voice prompts. The default VoiceMail box password if 00000 (five zeros).

Accessing your VoiceMail

Simply call 100 from your MTN cellphone and follow the voice prompts. Alternatively, dial 60 100 from another phone, followed by your full cellphone number and your password to pick up voice messages from other phones. For direct access (AutoPlay) to new messages, call 111 from your MTN cellphone.

The cost of MTN VoiceMail service

The service is absolutely free, and you won’t be charged when dialling 100 or 111 from your MTN cellphone. If you access your VoiceMail box from another phone by dialling 60 100, standard cellphone rates apply.

You will not be billed for diverted calls from your cellphone to MTN VoiceMail box, but when you divert calls to another phone, normal cellphone rates will be charged.
